10:05 am - England Day Seven
This was to be my last day in Lancaster. I was going to finish packing eat, and then take a bus to Preston, a train to London, and then sleep at the airport. I decided to take a picture of the stairs that Christina first made me go up on the first day with my suitcase.Read more...Collapse )
I finished packing, and sorted out the clothes I was going to wear, and then I put my cot back together to return it. This was my bed:Read more...Collapse )
We went back to the flat, and I started to make French Toast.Read more...Collapse )
Some of the Brits tried it, I guess to be polite, but they didn't like it in general. I burnt a couple of slices, but it was still delicious. Phil came back to the flat (and he brought like a 48 pack of Carlsing.. it was weird to see), and so As I finished up the last minute details, I took pictures of Christina, Phil and the scarf I had made.Read more...Collapse )
Emily told Nicole about how I was leaving that day and sleeping at the airport, and she asked me if I mind if she tagged along, and then she invited me to sleep with her ... AT HER HOTEL haha sorry. I was so excited, because that would be 1435x better than going to London alone, and sleeping at the airport. However, when I left, Christina didn't let me say goodbye to anyone. Alas, no bed for me that night.
We got on the bus, and I'm worrying like a mofo that I don't miss this bus (if I do, then I won't be able to make it). The guy on the phone said the bus station was 5 min by walking to the train station. I didn't believe him, so I took the earlier bus. We finally made it to the bus station, and the bus wasn't there yet (sweet!). Some guy that was there had a jheri curl, so I was joking with Christina about his hair. Read more...Collapse )
So, I get on the bus, and go to pay, lo and behold it's £4.85... So I scrounge in my wallet, I only have £4.27.. something like that. I was so embarrassed, and I didn't know what to do, so I looked around my stuff some more, while the bus guy took other people. And then jheri curl guy, ended up giving the bus guy 60p extra for me to use, and I almost hugged him I was so thankful and happy. I finally sat down, and started to calm down.
I get to Preston. I don't know where the fuck the train station is, so some nice people point me in the right direction, someone even walks me towards it :). I stopped at an ATM and got like £20, I should've gotten more, but how was I to know. There were a lot of women in burkas in Preston, I was amazed. So a HALF HOUR later, I arrive at the train station. I'm so happy I took the earlier bus!.Read more...Collapse )
When I couldn't feel my legs anymore, I decided to go to the bathroom, and I still couldn't feel my ass/legs/thighs.
So the first train became delayed past the original train I wanted to go on, so I was pissed. Because train #1 was on platform 5... then I go to platform 6 because that's where train#2 the earlier train is... then it changes to plat 3, and then plat 4, and then I go back to plat 5 originally, which the train has been at the station since 4pm. RRRRR.
So I got on the train. Sat down. I take deep breaths, open my journal, and write. Then I look up, and Nicole(!) got on the train. I was surprised, and I called out her name. She sat next to me, and she was going to go sleep at the airport like me. I was really happy, she was pretty cool. We got on the train, and she had a ticket for a bus to the airport. So we got off the train and go for the bus, but it never comes, and we get pissed, and go back to the train to get at the Euston stop, to take that to the airport.Read more...Collapse )
We get to the airport finally, we're exhausted by now. ...
People are vacuuming. There is ONE clerk there, and he's cleaning up. I was in shock, serious shock.
I was disappointed, because my plan fell through. We ended up taking a cab to this hotel that Nicole knew of. She wanted me to pay taxi fare, and I would've GLADLY done it, but I didn't have enough. Embarrassed once again.
We get there, get a room, the food/bar place was closing in like 5 minutes, so I got us sandwiches, which I paid with my debit card (hoping it still had $$ on it). We ate, and then went to the room and watched Six Degrees of Separation. I set the alarm and fell asleep.

Journal edit:
I'm at Preston wiating for a train to train to London Euston. It took me a 1/2 hour to walk here from the bus station. I'm glad I didn't believe the guy on the phone... However, there is an earlier train instead of the 5:28... 4:40, it's 4:28 right now, but the train is apparently delayed, like the rest, until 5:09.. Asshats. I really miss Adam... I guess we're having some sort of long term fling? I don't know.. He said he's "seeing" me "exclusively" but won't commit to some sort of name, I think he meant like boyfriend *shrug*. Rawr, wrong journal. Anywho, I got so excited this morning when Nicole was thinking of coming down on the train with me and then wanting to share her hotel room in London with me! I think Christina disapproved, because she didn't let me say goodbye to anyone besides Phil. I made a pretty scarf, so now her flatmates know me as "Chris' flash happy crocheting friend". I have another 1/2 hour til this blasted train comes. Last night, we went to a club, Sugar house, everyone kept telling me what a shite club it is... yet we still went. Christina and I left early (midnight), and since I need a good rest for today, I took a shower before the others were to arrive (2am). I took my shower, and used the bathroom. I heard some noises so I went to the door to see what the commotion was, and JoAnn was there saying sonething and scared me. I packed in less than 3 hours, we returned the beautiful cot, and I made French Toast. Then I went with Christina to catch the bus. The guy took forever to get to the station, and catch my bus to Preston! My trains been delayed to 5:14! wth! My luck at arriving to the station had faded quickly... Anyway, so Christina told me that to Preston it would cost me a quid, so I'd be fine. I only had £4.27. However the bus cost £4.85.. I was so embarrassed :(, some kind man gave 60p to pay for the rest and I was incredibly grateful. Embarrassed like hell, but I was grateful. Wow, now the train's at 5:24.. The one I came for is at 5:28. I wonder if I should get on the 5:28 one or if that'll be delayed as well. I'm tired and cold, so time to do SOMETHING... rawr dunno what though.
So I'm on plat 5, my original train has been @ the station since like 4pm. I was at plat 6 waiting for the earlier one, that changed to plat 3, so i went to plat 3, to find that it's delayed to 5:31. Whereas the train I'm supposd to be at is where I just was. RAWR! I went to the bathroom and my ass is numb. It's insane. I'm so tired, I fell asleep for like 5 minute intervals on the bus. I'm so tired, I may begin my nap now...
PURE coincedence, Nicole go on the same train I did! Even the same cabin car! I don't know what we're going to do tonight, but company's nice.

09:34 am - England Day Six
Christina and I woke up and we went to downtown Lancaster/the train station to buy me a ticket back to London. Read more...Collapse )
I had planned to go to London the night before, and then I'd just sleep at the airport. We went around downtown Lancaster, and I took some pictures. We were going to go to the Ashton memorial, and the butterfly house, but my feet/legs were in so much pain, I couldn't handle it. So here's downtown Lancaster.Read more...Collapse )
We get to the club, and we start worrying about the Americans, because you need a student id. I had my Andover id hehehe, and I used it. The bouncer guy was like, well isn't that something! She's born in the 13th month! (morons) So, he kinda looked at me and just let me go in. However, they gave Christina some sort of hassle, and it was seriously crazy.Read more...Collapse )
Since I was leaving the next day, and I was pretty tired, Christina and I left early. At the club they played "No Diggity" by Blackstreet 3 times. It was pretty crappy. So we left, and I went and took a shower. Apparently as I was in the shower, everyone came back, and JoAnn scared the crap out of me in the bathroom. I packed some more, and tried to go to sleep, while all the drunkens were being drunk.

Journal edit:
While we were in the kitchen, Billy was suggesting that everyone get an "X" tattooed on their body, to represent the 10 of them. The girls didn't like that idea, so I suggested:
P: How about the five guys get a V/ V?
Others: Oh that might be cool....
Billy: No, then people'll say, "Oh look at that virgin!"
I was very amused. :)
The next day, Christina and I planned to make an American breakfast. I finished packing, and making my scarf, and went to bed.

09:04 am - England Day Five
Somehow, Christina and I were able to wake up rarely early. We wanted to wake up super early, so we could eat breakfast and walk out to the town by the time the sun rose, but we underestimated when that would be. We went downstairs and had breakfast (which was free yay!) and it was pretty damn good. I got apple juice because it really helps my cramps. I finished it fast, and when i went back, I asked the lady if I could have another glass. She told me that I wasn't supposed to, but I should quickly before the guy gets back. It was great :). I really wanted to leave most of my stuff in the storage room, and then come back to get it before the train station; I had CRAZY blisters. However, while we were sleeping, Phil decided that we should go visit him. So, I had to carry all my stuff, regardless. We left, and I decided to take pictures of where we were staying at, and the nearby areas. Read more...Collapse ) As Christina and I arrived downtown, I told we that we should walk some of the wall before we go into York Minster. It was pretty fun, and that walk inspired some really weird photos *embarrassed*. Read more...Collapse ) As we were walking the wall on this incredibly damp day, I was reminded of LotR:TTT. So Christina and I decided to do weird photos that would be altered later. I altered some, and left some undone.Read more...Collapse )We finally left. It was really fun, but would've been better if there was sunlight. When we left, it started to not downpour as much, so we walked about. We passed by a pastry shop with a scrumptious cake displayed. Read more...Collapse ) Our next stop was Clifford's Tower. I don't recall much about what it was, I believe it was a part of a castle that was in York.. It was at the very end of town, so it took us quite a bit. When we got there, I was in awe of it.Read more...Collapse )
Phil took us to "The Royal Oak" pub. I laughed when I read it, I didn't get anything to drink, because I still had my bottle of Coke. He seemed like a nice guy. One of his friend's, Connor? I don't remember his name :X, wasn't such a nice guy, and I found out WAY too much information about him. We talked for a bit, and finally we all walked back to the train station, and Christina said her goodbye.
We got back to Lancaster, and I met Joann and Billy. Emily came later with her friend, Nicole, who was also visiting from the states. We all got introductions, I changed, and we decided to go to the Furness bar. Read more...Collapse )
After the bar, we went back to the flats. I called my house, because JoAnn was telling us that Christina's phone was ringing a lot while she was gone. Alas, my parents were trying to call, when I told them that I was going to be in York for two days. I called them back, and then I called Adam and we talked for an hour. I was SO fucking happy to finally talk to him. It was great. Christina was being silly though, because while I was on the phone she'd pester me about things:
C: Who are you talking to?
P: Adam :)
C: And... what is he?
P: a male ;)
A: Did she just ask what I was?! I'm an internationally famous plumber!
I swear he said that :)

09:52 pm - England, Day Four
WARNING!- There are about 100 pictures for this day and 100 more for the next, it will take QUITE the time to load. If you're still interested.. Here's my day.
Christina and I woke up at the BUTTCRACK of dawn. We had to order a taxi to get to the train station it was that early. I had tried calling Adam again, to no avail, and we went on our merry way. Christina bought a ticket for me from Lancaster to Preston, Preston to York, which cost like maybe 30 pounds altogether. We get on the train and go to Preston, the guy doesn't even CHECK our tickets. Christina wasted about $20 of my money, and she didn't even offer to pay for half of my wasted ticket. I was peeved, but we were going to pretty, pretty York, so all is well. We waited at Preston for a very long time. I quickly bought a sandwich, pringles and coke (it was hard for me to find Pepsi). The sandwich was horrible, neither Christina nor I could/would consume it. Mind you, it takes about 10 minutes or so by train to get to Lancaster to Preston, and our York train left from Preston at 6:31 in the morning. So, it was early as hell.
The night before, I had convinced Christina to stay at the Hostel in York, and I was very happy. You would think somoene who is well off, and she is, who claims we have to stay in York for two days, and must get a hotel, would pay for most of the hotel, because I was seriously getting close to broke. She seriously wanted to stay in a place that would've costed us 160 quid a night, which is like 160 dollars each. For ONE night in York, all you need is a bed, so we finally agreed on the hostel which claimed it didn't need reservations.
We get to York and see that the Hostel has a sign and where it's located and I'm looking at our map and it's different, and it says it's weird way to get there, so we try it. It was raining, freezing and horrible in York when we arrived. We walked for like 2 hours to get to this damn place, at which point Christina and I were soaking and regretful of not getting a taxi.
We go straight, and I have no idea where we are, so I ask for directions.
Person One: "Well, you go up a bit, then you turn left towards the Minster, and then go past it make a right and it's right there."
That didn't sound right at all, but we went towards the Minster anyway. We came across a pharmacy, and I went in and asked her.
Person Two: "Ohh, you're real close, you go around the corner and it's right there."
Christina and I were very excited by this news, so we trotted around the corner, and still didn't fucking find it. We go back to near the pharmacy, and there's this lady coming out of her house, I decided that she would know where it was, so I asked her.
Helpful Person Three: "The Youth Hostel, right. Well, you go around this bend here, keep going and going, then you make a left. You keep walking and you have to cross the street and it should be on the right."
We thanked her, followed her directions and found the Hostel.
We learned that in York, "right there" equates to "go around a bend, keep going and going, then make a left, keep walking, cross the street and it on the right."
And we get to the hostel, which looks pretty damn nice. It was next to this beautiful park which I was longing to have a walk in (snap pictures), but the weather was pretty crap.
We get to the Hostel and the lady was like, "Do you have reservations?" I about died. She said we didn't need them, but she was just curious. It was about $40 for the both of us, I believe, and breakfast was included. Our rooms were being cleaned, so we could store our stuff in the luggage room and then go to our rooms in like 30 minutes or so. I feared that this place was going to be way too far from York Minster, but I was wrong (yay!).
Across from the pharmacy and evil Person Two, there was this pub, Old Grey MareCollapse )
This place was rather amazing, I thought. I was rather hesitant to go eat there, but we were starved, and for 5 quid we got a huge plate full of GOOD fried chicken, salad, chips and a drink. Though we were both incredibly hungry, neither of us could eat that much food.
We left and in about 10 minutes we came across old pretty stuff :DRead more...Collapse ) I knew we were getting close to the York Minster and we were there within seconds. This made me feel human.Collapse )
Christina wanted to go to the Jorvik Viking Centre first, she's all into that archaeology stuff, so we went. The maps made YorkCollapse ) seem MUCH bigger than it was. We passed by some pretty churches and structures, as well as a Borders. Read more...Collapse )
We got to Jorvik Viking Centre rather quickly. It was much closer than I expected. We went on this sights and SMELLS tour of Jorvik(York) way back in the day. It was pretty cool, it was like an amusement park ride (almost), and they had some cool things after the ride as well.Read more...Collapse )
I bought all of my souvenirs at the viking centre, and they had the best souvenirs. They had some swords and daggers I wanted to buy, however I doubt customs would've been okay with that. We left within an hour or so, and still had quite enough time to spare, so we decided to head back towards York Minster. I took more pictures, heh.Read more...Collapse )
We finally went into York Minster, and it started to rain after that. So the glass on the walls didn't look as nice, and it was rather bleh looking, so as Christina was deciding what she wanted to do, I started taking pictures of the foyer (before you buy tickets and enter the prettiness), I guess, to York Minster. Read more...Collapse )
We decided to come see the actual York Minster tomorrow, and instead of buying a saver ticket for the upper level and the basement, we went to the basement the first day. Which was incredibly interesting, and I'm wondering if they had it last time I was there.Read more...Collapse )
We finally left the central area, and went back to hostel. We were a bit knackered and hungry. I was exhausted really, my chest was feeling worse, and I was scared that I was going to die before the trip's end. My feet were also SO sore, they were blistered like a mothafucka, which I took pictures of, but I won't show you, because that's gross. Christina really wanted to go on a haunted ghost walk thing, so we picked one, and we decided to go to it, however after I rested. Read more...Collapse )

10:06 pm - Day 3
So, Christina and I woke up early once again, had our breakfast, blah, blah. We decided to make it a Lancaster day. Christina had gotten a cough from apparently Phil's brother or mother, and it wasn't getting better with medication, so we were both such lovely tourists. I wasn't taking any medication because I thought it was a cold... or something... *cough*
So, before we went off around Lancaster, Christina wanted to see the dentist so she could fix her tooth. Apparently, it cracked a bit. Campus of Lancaster UniversityCollapse )
Whoa, what are those?!

Wow! Cocks!Cock actionCollapse ) Christina and I speculated if any desperate college students decided to eat poultry while they were stumbling drunk into the campus...More random pictures, and LancasterCollapse ) And after that, we went back to Christina's dorm. We didn't do much else. We planned our stay/days in York, and she was thinking of on the way back from York if we could stop from York to Keighley, Keighley to Lancaster. So, she could see her boyfriend, because she missed him so much. Mind you, she hadn't seen him for 4 days. She couldn't wait 3 more days. I think we went to Spar again, (I'm pretty sure we went like every night) and I tried some other alcoholic beverages, which I didn't like as well. That was the night I really started to freak out about money.

11:47 pm - England, Day Two
So, Christina and I woke up very early to go to Manchester. I packed a small bag together, and off we went. Christina has a student discount card for train tickets, so she would buy me tickets at the counters (I kept all my tickets, too. Well, I tried to, at least), and then she would buy her ticket on the train. This is probably the most devious thing I've known Christina to do. I think her boyfriend uses it, as well. Anyway, so off we went to Manchester. The train there was pretty cute, better than the train I went on to Lancaster, at least. Since, Christina didn't want to research Manchester a bit, and only wanted to go there in the daytime (because England is a scary place in the dark, cough), we had to take a cab from the train station to the mall. She'd pay the way there, and I'd pay the way back. So we get in the cab, and she thinks that you're not supposed to tip.... so she doesn't. It was like 12 pounds. Though, on the way back, after paying for dinner on my credit card, and seeing the whole gratuity thing, I tipped the cabbie, so twas like 15 pounds. Anyway, so we finally go in. We went in through Debenhams(?), I believe, and so it didn't look too great. I got nervous at first, but then we finally made it to the pretty part. The Orient Express: PrettinessCollapse )
This is all in a mall, mind you. Just one section.
On the way, we passed by a HMV store, so I was interested in buying the Coldplay Live 2003 sp. ed. dvd (online it was like 25 pounds), so I looked for it, and it was like 18 pounds, so I considered buying it. At Coldplay.com they also had this calendar for like 10 pounds. HMV was selling it for 2. So, I bought that quick :). It was quite awkward to carry around, but yay. They even had a Borders inside this mall, which was at most 4 years old.
Next, we went into the Entertainment and Food Eatery, which was entitled, "Orleans". The eatery area looks like a huge cruise ship. It has a huge tv screen, boats, and the ceiling looks like the sky. Oooh, la, la!Collapse )
And then, on the big screen they have some music videos on rotation. Last time I was there, they had that "boom, boom, boom, boom, I want you in my room" music video. This time they had Beautiful Occupation by Travis. :DDon't just stand there...Collapse )
Play that riff, Andy. After I took those pictures, Christina and I decided to eat at Pizza Hut. For $26, yes, dollars, we had a pizza, ice cream, two drinks and breadsticks. The Pizza Hut had an Egyptian theme to it.I'm running out of things to say on these things.Collapse )
Then they also had a movie theatre in this place. You go up these stairs or something. There was some guy statue there too.. hmmCollapse )
I thought the artwork was all so pretty, and I mean this is a mall. They were opened pretty late for most places in England. They were opened til like nine pm everyday. I was so amazed. However, we were going to leave around 4, so I hurried and went to the fountain that I so longed to see.
This fountain shoots water up every 15 minutes or so, to the ceiling of the mall and it looks just really cute. Christina was mad at me for wanting to take pictures of itCollapse ) We did our final rounds, apparently Christina was extremely tired, and hated malls (bad tour guide she was). So I had her take one kinky picture of meCollapse )The picture probably would've been nice if Christina would've waited for me to settle down. I thought she took the picture after I dropped all those things, apparently she took it while I was getting up off of it. And so I look horrible *pouts*.
We finally went outside to where the private hire cars were to get a taxi. I almost forgot how beautiful this place was, almost. I can't believe she said this place was like Somerset..Collapse ) So, there were my pictures for the day.
I remember getting back to the station all pissed, and that we didn't stay longer, but by the time we got back to her dorm I was exhausted. I don't think we did anything except research stuff for York and London trains. We went to bed rather early. Oh, but before I went to bed, we went to Spar, rather embarassingCollapse )

On the train, to and fro Manchester, I wrote some journal entries about some random things Christina and I were talking about: Read more...Collapse )
Haha, I'm so lame.
